WorldEdit is so well known that it likely does not require any explanation on what exactly it is. With this, it's surely a must for a plugin - such as in this case Marcely's Bedwars - to support it. Any yes, we do! However, WorldEdit is not really a requirement for this plugin. Actually, you're able to use all the features included in MBedwars even without WorldEdit. The benefit of WorldEdit is that it likely makes your life easier as you're able to use something you're already likely used to.
You may download it here: https://dev.bukkit.org/projects/worldedit
Keep in mind that you have to use v7 (the latest ones) when you're using 1.13+, otherwise you should stick to the older versions (likely v6.1.9). MBedwars fully supports both.
WorldEdit is an editing tool for the 2011 Mojang sandbox video game Minecraft, developed by software group EngineHub. It was released worldwide on 28 September 2010 as a plugin for the hMod modification. It has since been ported as a Bukkit plugin and as a mod for the Fabric and Forge mod loaders. With almost 26 million downloads from Curseforge as of February 2022, it is the most popular Bukkit plugin of all time, and is also one of the most popular Fabric/Forge mods available. Having been released just over a month after Minecraft's multiplayer update, WorldEdit is also one of the oldest server-side plugins. The WorldEdit project, initially started by sk89q, is currently run by Me4502.
WorldEdit has been featured on the Minecraft website as one of the most popular building tools. WorldEdit has also been cited in United States patents and scientific papers. Many professional Minecraft builders and artists utilize WorldEdit in their projects.
WorldEdit's primary feature is to assist the player in building structures, a core gameplay mechanic of Minecraft, and in creating customized terrain. WorldEdit can be used to build almost anything through a variety of tools such as brushes, block replacers, and more.
The selection of regions is mainly being used for one main thing: The creation of arenas of the type "REGION" (Read more about arena's types). Simply use the axe (command: //axe
) or commands (e.g. //pos1
, //pos2
) to mark your region. We recommend you to select all the blocks within y (using the command //expand vert
), meaning that it will be possible to build as far high and below from the arena as the world allows. Reason being that it is very common that people forget a few bits of an arena making it impossible to e.g. break them or causing players to get pushed away by the border. Furthermore, some features (such as the Rescue Platform) rely on a dept/great void.
No, you don't. You may use the /bw tools getposaxe
command to obtain the alternative item (that is similar to the ones in WorldEdit) for marking your corners. Only keep in mind that you won't have all the fancy features available in WorldEdit, possibly causing it to be a bit more time consuming to great an arena of the type REGION.
